Berlin Fashion Week – Designers Show Package Summer 2019

The Berlin Fashion Week is one of the most exciting events in the German fashion industry — and for our models, it means four intense days full of castings, runway shows and unforgettable backstage moments. In our exclusive Show Package, we bring together everything that makes the Fashion Week Berlin so special: top Berlin talents, international guest stars and an energy that you feel nowhere else in Germany. If you’re not yet familiar with our modelling agency: we stand for serious work, fair conditions and real career opportunities — from the first casting to the big stage.

What the Berlin Fashion Week Show Package includes

Our Show Package for the summer edition of the Berlin Fashion Week is not an ordinary booking — it’s a complete package for models, clients and designers alike. At the heart of it are our carefully curated Modelagentur Berlin talents, supplemented by selected models from Hamburg, Frankfurt and other cities. Together, they form the lineup that causes a stir on the runways of the capital.

Overview of the schedule and show dates

The events take place over four compact days in late summer. To ensure all participants — from the agency to the designer — always have an overview, we have summarised the most important programme highlights in an overview table:

Day Programme Item Relevant for Models
Day 1 Arrival, accreditation, first show casting Casting preparation, bring your sedcard
Day 2 Designer fittings, trial runs Keep measurements up to date, arrive on time
Day 3 Main shows, photo sessions, interviews Maximum presence, backstage etiquette
Day 4 Closing events, networking, final shoot Update portfolio, maintain contacts

Our models on the runway

Anyone hoping to impress on the catwalk at the Berlin Fashion Week needs more than just good looks. Catwalk experience, posture and the ability to stage clothing in motion are essential. Those who want to refresh the most important basics will find comprehensive catwalk and modelling tips here, directly from practice. Our Berlin-based regular models are already familiar with the requirements of the BFW from their own experience — for newcomers, thorough preparation is a must.

“The Berlin Fashion Week is for many models the moment when a talent becomes a real personality. The catwalk forgives no half-heartedness — but it rewards courage and presence with a career that extends far beyond the capital.”

Requirements and prerequisites for show models

Not every modelling agency sends as many models into the race as possible. We focus on quality rather than quantity — and that starts with clear requirements. Anyone who wants to know what is generally necessary to get started in the modelling business should first inform themselves about the requirements to become a model and then systematically tackle the individual steps to become a model.

Measurements, Size and Type

In the classic high-fashion segment, specific guidelines still apply for model measurements and requirements. At the same time, the industry has long recognised that diversity is not a trend, but a reality. Those who wonder whether a particular minimum height for modelling agencies is really decisive will be surprised: Many agencies — including us — work without a minimum height requirement and successfully represent talents with larger sizes. Curvy modelling as a path to becoming a model is no longer a niche topic either — demand at Berlin shows is increasing from season to season.

International guest stars in the package

Alongside our Berlin-based regular models, talents from other cities also travel to take part in the Show Package. This makes the casting more varied and offers designers a wide range of options. Those who want to take part as models from other metropolitan areas will also find information here about Model agency Hamburg, Becoming a model in Frankfurt as well as international opportunities such as Becoming a model in London or Becoming a model in New York.

How to apply for the Berlin Fashion Week with CM Models

The path to the Berlin catwalk begins long before the first show — namely at the casting. We recommend that all interested applicants register early with Casting with CM Models and thoroughly inform themselves in advance about the correct Casting preparation. A professional Model portfolio for casting is essential: it is your business card and often decides whether you make it into the shortlist even before your first personal impression.

Checklist: What you need for your BFW casting

  • ☐ Up-to-date sedcard with professional photos
  • ☐ Measurements written down and up to date
  • ☐ Neat, natural appearance
  • ☐ Neutral clothing (no patterns, no logos)
  • ☐ Bring high heels for ladies
  • ☐ Agency contact details readily available
  • ☐ Portfolio available digitally and in print
  • ☐ Punctuality — at least 15 minutes early

Anyone who ticks off all these points is well prepared for the casting and leaves a lasting first impression. For a direct application with us, the form is always available under Apply now.

Berlin Fashion Week in an international context

Berlin is not Paris, not Milan and not New York — and that is a strength. While the Big 4 Fashion Weeks dominate the global fashion business, the BFW has established itself as a platform for avant-garde concepts, emerging designers and progressive aesthetics. Those who want to know the differences will find overviews of the New York Fashion Week dates, the Paris Fashion Week dates, the Milan Fashion Week and the London Fashion Week with us. The comparison is worth it — because those who know the international competition understand why Berlin is such a valuable springboard for a career.

German designers in focus

The BFW is also a stage for local creativity. Many German fashion designers use the week to show their collections to a wider audience. For models, this means: those who show presence in Berlin make direct contact with the names that will shape the German and European fashion business in the coming years.

Conditions and transparency

Fair terms are not up for negotiation for us. Anyone wondering what a model earns during a Fashion Week, or whether a model agency should pay money, should take a look at our information pages. We operate as a model agency without fees — no hidden costs, no advance payment model. Those who want to try modelling as a side job are also welcome with us. We explain in detail on our own pages how to recognise a reputable model agency and what distinguishes the Top 10 model agencies.

  • No advance payments for models
  • Transparent payment structure
  • Personal support before and after shows
  • Clear contract terms for every booking
  • Dedicated contact person within the agency team

Anyone wishing to contact an agency will also find tips here on how best to write to a model agency — the first contact often decides everything.

Common questions about the BFW Show Package

Can beginners without experience apply?

Yes, in principle. Anyone who doesn’t have any runway experience but meets the physical and personal requirements can apply for our casting. We look at each applicant individually. A professional preparation is important — especially an up-to-date headshot and a well-groomed appearance. More experienced talents are preferred for the main shows, but newcomers certainly have chances for their first appearances in the supporting programme.

How does the booking for the Show Package work?

Designers and clients can contact us directly via our booking form. We then put together a suitable lineup of available models, agree on measurements and types, and coordinate fittings as well as show dates. The booking takes place exclusively through the agency — direct arrangements between clients and models without the agency are not possible and are against our terms and conditions.

What distinguishes the Berlin Show Package from other Fashion Weeks?

The BFW is more experimental and accessible to up-and-coming talents on both sides — that is, for young designers as well as aspiring models — compared to Paris or Milan. The Show Package by CM Models reflects this: we combine proven professionals with emerging newcomers, creating lineups that unite energy and reliability.

Which cities are represented in the Show Package?

The majority of our lineup comes from Berlin, as that is where we have our strongest model base. The team is supplemented by talents from Hamburg, Frankfurt and — for special shows — also from international markets. This creates diversity in looks and background, which many designers explicitly request when casting.
